Caged Song Bird
This is my project that I did outside of the illustrator unit. I created a bird in a cage, starting with the birds body. Then i created the lighter middle patch and the wings and tail feathers, using the arc tool mainly. The legs are just miniature body ovals, with different coloring and then I drew the feet with the pen tool. Then the eyes are just ellipses that have been cut in half and rounded. The beak was created by the pen tool only. After the bird was finished I created the background using the rectangle tool, and also by using arcs. It was an okay project to do, it mainly showed me how much I have learned in illustrator.
Trace Self-Portrait
This was my final illustrator project, it was also the longest project for me, and also the most fun for me. First thing first, I took a profile picture and then plugged it into my computer. I first started by creating the face shape, moving to the hair, eyes, mouth, neck, arms, and finally the shirt. I then went back and and added highlights, low lights, details, and the background to finish it off. It took me multiple days, because of all the details of the face. It was my favorite picture because of the details, and creating a self portrait was enlightening.
Live Trace Action Picture
This was my second to last project, and it was also one of my favorite projects. We went out in groups and took action pictures and then we went and uploaded them to illustrator. Then using live trace, I converted the photo into a vector image, and then I was able to erase the remaining background of the image. Leaving free space to put splotches of paint, and to paint lines as well. I finished to project by using the text tool, and putting in a personal quote. This project was a lot of fun, and it introduce live trace to me, preparing me for the next project, (shown above.)
Cute and Cuddly Panda Face
This was the second project that I did in illustrator. It began with doing the main head shape, then the ears, then eyes, and finally the nose. The shadows were added, blushing cheeks, and to shape the nose. It was rather hard to do as a second project, but now looking back I realized that it was inexperience that was making it hard. The project was an excellent learning experience for me and it taught me many skills in illustrator.
